Overall goals and objectives for 2021

Goals are not goals until they written on a page. Dreams are in our head. Goals are dreams inked on a piece of paper.

Every new year, goals are set. Some are realised, others not. Why? It is a wonder.

Being bold and being allowed to dream big is important. However objectives are required as marker points to indicate progress towards the goals.

But should there not be any space for intuition, creativity, and opportunities?

It is these unexpected opportunities and doors that open that really move us forward. Setting up and focusing too much on plans and key objectives may stop opportunities from coming our way, as it stops imagination, creativity and opportune moments to show up. Rigid plans may hinder opportunities. To succeed in achieving goals, one needs a balance of both objectives and planning with a certain fluidity to allow opportunities to come around.

Therefore, for this coming year, I have decided that my goals would be:

  • Let the juice flows, let opportunities come and act upon them straight away without second thoughts.

  • Trust in the universe and intuition.

  • Be kind and loving to people,, who knows, they may more often than not bring those unexpected opportunities.

And here are my objectives:

  • keep and be more minimalist than I am - do not let the things in my way. be free from things so that creativity can flow. get rid of 20% of my belongings (difficult when I have already gotten rid of more than 50% of my belongings in the past 4 years). But it is possible with one hard look at all the stuff one can accumulate without awareness: use all I have and give away things that I do not use. been ruthless and truthful with me is hard but is the most beneficial.

  • act upon every intuition, ideas, sparks of creativity right away. do not let it go wasted. do not think it through. trust the universe. an idea, write about it straight away. an image, paint or draw it now there and then. words coming my mind, record them now either with a Dictaphone or with a notebook. meditate more for a freedom of mind.

  • learn from others and appreciate them. love your friends. be open-minded always. listen to others, everybody has always something to learn and therefore grow. read a lot. get curious, directed curiosity but still curiosity. the more you learn, the less you seem to know.

And more importantly, review goals every single day. write 1 or 2 actions every day to progress toward objectives and therefore the overall goals

And remember, be kind to yourself, be kind to others.
