Nothing like fresh cut flowers...

If you are like me, who love to have fresh cut flowers every week to peep me up and bring some je ne sais quoi in the house, then you may understand why my mood is slightly dampened. Not only we are confined and need to pre-plan our meals for some future ahead, but also I am missing that lightness, beauty and innocence that fresh cut flowers can bring to any room. Fresh cut flowers pamper me.

With the lock-down, it has been difficult to get fresh cut flowers. So I ventured in the garden looking for some inspiration. This time of the year many trees and bushes are in blossom. I cut some branches here and there.

It was a bit of a challenge. Unlike flowers such as roses, tulips, etc, bushes and tress such as forsythias are not easy to tan in a vase. Their imperfection and beauty are meant to be enjoyed in their wilderness, rather than in a vase. Nevertheless, after a bit of juggling and rearranging, the bouquet was ready. By any mean it looked perfect, however it brought a bit of nature and perfect imperfection in the house. I have learnt that I need to learnt a new skill: creating flower bouquet out of wild branches and bushes. It is truly an art that I do not master.

However it was worth the try and I felt that their imperfection could be enjoyed as such. And more importantly it brought me some unexpected joy.

I would encourage you to try to do something you have never done before, even if it is just for that once. You will learn something about you and will not regret it.

Be kind to you, be kind to others
