It was so bad we did not think we were going to make it. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened*
How often when things go wrong for us, we turn to lamentation. When things do not turn well, when unexpected issues arise, we start to disbelieve in ourselves. What did we do to deserve this bad luck? It seems we get punished for hoping for a better life, an easier life. One said, Do not wish it was easier, wish you had more skills.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but unfortunately, it is only afterward, and often long afterwards that we discover it.
The pain is so bad that everything appears worthless. Everything seems amplified for the better or worse, like an observation under a microscope. Something banal, so common that we would not notice under normal circumstances, appears new and unreal. Everything is excruciating and nothing tastes good. But take heart and trust. Trust the universe, God, or yourself. If you no longer trust yourself and seem lost, trust your gut instinct, the universe, God, and the Source. This situation happens for a reason. And if you learn from it and grow as a result, it will be a blessing. it will be the best thing to move you forward to a better future. You will get over it and come out better than you were.
Look at Hyacinths: growing in winter when it is freezing, wet, and miserable outside. And yet, despite the difficult environment, they slowly and steadily grow, announcing the end of the difficult season and the beginning of a more joyful one, when everything is renewed. They grow into beautifully scented flowers and bring a bit of sunshine into our lives when everything seems doom and gloom.
Our lives are similar. As difficult it can be, we need to go through tough situations and circumstances. Only long afterward, will we realise that we need to go through these tests to become the best of who we are. As the proverb says, what does not kill us, makes us stronger…
