Mobile phone addiction
If you commute by public transport, for example by train, you will have noticed how many commuters are on their mobile phones mindlessly scrolling on internet pages and social media. Or texting. Is that the future will be? Online socialising, an individualist society, which is no longer communal.
It is a wonder how we ever lived without mobile phones just a few years ago. What did we do to entertain ourselves during our commute times without our mobile phones?
Do we go through our mobile phones to avoid boredom or loneliness? Are we reading books on our mobile phones? Are we using our mbile phone to learn a new skill? What is so fascinating in our phones that the landscape around us cannot provide? How about starting a conversation with the person sitting next to us?
How would you feel if the person sitting next to you that you do not know, started a conversation with you? Would you engage? Would you polityely reply and then move back to what you were doing previously?
